British U21 Final

One of the biggest nights in the British Speedway Calendar takes place tonight (Friday 16th) at the home of the Redcar Bears, with 16 of the best British Under 21 riders competing for the British Title.

British Youth Boss Neil Vatcher commented:

“This year’s Final is without doubt the most open for many a year, as previously there has always been a rider competing who has been the red hot favourite, whereas this year’s final there are genuinely 9 or 10 riders in the line-up who could end up on the top of the rostrum at the end of the evening.

For me this is always one of the best meetings of the season as none of the guys know when they are beaten, and with the format of a Semi-Final and a Final, the possibility is 8 or 9 points might be enough to qualify, so it is not over until it’s over.

On top of that, the event is being run at one of the best racetracks in the country and by 10pm Friday evening, history will be in the making when a new British Under 21 Champion will be crowned.

I would like to go on record and thank the Redcar Promotion for hosting the event, and the Members of the BSP Ltd for their continued support.”

There has been a one late change to the line-up with the unfortunate Leon Flint having to withdraw with a wrist injury after crashing at Berwick last Saturday, with Jordan Palin stepping in.
